April 2005

Eastern Devil, watercolor, acrylic, & ink.

Tin-Foil Giant, watercolor on tinfoil.  Take 1 sheet of tinfoil, glue it to a piece of paper, and go to town painting a robot.

Black Moon Soldier, watercolor & tinfoil.  This was my first experiment by painting on tinfoil that I'd glued onto the paper.

MechaMage, watercolor & tinfoil.

An Unsightly Growth, watercolor & ink.  Part 1 of a set.  Have I mentioned how much I enjoyed Army of Darkness?

A Strange Problem, watercolor & ink.  Part 2 of a set.  There's also a rather obvious KOL reference there, if you know the game.

Flying Monkey #3, watercolor & ink

My Necromantic Hat Keeps Me Alive, watercolor & ink.  Character from a card game I designed.

BFM, watercolor on cardstock.

Happy Necromancer #2, watercolor & ink.  I really have no idea why this one's called #2, since I can't recall painting another "happy" necromancer before in my life.  Maybe I do it just to sound more productive or artsy than I really am.  I'm such a tool sometimes.

Mal's Ketchup Hound Fetish, watercolor & ink.  This is a KOL joke but I think it's disturbing enough even if you don't play the game.

Dr. Phil Can't Help Our Relationship, or: Why Can't I Successfully Micro-manage?, watercolor & ink.

Martian Lightning, just watercolor on pink paper.

Dolly Wetwork, just watercolor on cardstock.  Sometimes my "underwater" art turns out too wet, if that makes any sense.

Roger's Jolly, just watercolor.  Isn't the title funny?  OH MY GOD Hahahahahah.  See instead of a Jolly Roger I called it Roger's Jolly!  Isn't that funny and clever.  God I'm such a freaking GENIUS.  Or not.

My dear friend Norain (is dead), watercolor, acrylic, & ink.

Parasitic Mickey Mouse Club, watercolor & ink.

Future Mom, watercolor & ink.  One day, we will all parent this way!

The Fishman, watercolor & ink.  I really, really have a think for every breed of Fishman.  I just can't explain why considering how there's so few films about them.

Kenny: Human Tornado, watercolor & ink.  I will never ever be able to duplicate what I did  in the background of this one.  Damn it for accidents.

Mountain Jack Whiskey, watercolor.

Safety Cone in a Field of Wheat, acrylic & watercolor.  This piece marked the beginning of me occasionally doing non-comic art, or art that's either kind of pretentious or really, really weird without having much comedic value.  I'm not sure if that's a good thing, but it's sort of true.

The Amazing Bumble-Plunger Truck, watercolor, acrylic, & ink.  I don't really know what I was thinking when I did this one either.

Weapon Brown, acrylic, watercolor & ink.  Tribute to WhatisDeepFried.com.

Paranoia, 50x50, acrylic on canvas.  My goal of doing the entire cast of Alice in Wonderland continues with this one.  God damn the Jabberwocky is one stupid-looking monster.

Dr. Thug wears Tiny Pants, watercolor & ink.  Part of the Drunk Art experiment.  Also a character from a card game I designed.

Victorian Gothic, watercolor & ink.  Part of the Drunk Art experiment.  While drinking this girl asked me to draw her.  Then she ran far, far away.

Random Guy #1, watercolor & ink.  Part of the Drunk Art experiment.

Random Guy #2, watercolor & ink.  Part of the Drunk Art experiment.  I really don't know what this guy was doing in a Goth club.
